I have Permatex Form a Gasket and Permatex thread sealant with PTFE. PTFE sealant says nothing about being fuel resistant. Is there better stuff? Did a search here and on Google and found conflicting info.

As long as the regulator is steel and your using brass fittings, then don't be scared to put some heavy pressure on them. Deforming the brass will not hurt the seal and it will take away any brass imperfections.
